Monument Valley
Feb. 17th, 2026 05:47 pmI enjoyed my time with Monument Valley. It's a puzzle game, in 3D, but in perspective 3D. Think of it as Escher-Esque at time, where up and down and what connects to what all depends on perspective.
They created an absolutely wonderful underlying engine for their puzzle, one that they showed off in numerous ways. This engine is a wonder to behold.
The game wasn't long as games go, so I spread out the levels over weeks just so that I wouldn't rush through. This isn't a rushing a game for rushing through.
I loved - adored - melted over the overall aesthetic. I loved Ida's simple design and the overall feel, a chef's kiss of simplicity hosting its complexity.
